Campaign

This campaign is to honor the memory of the 115 girls and boys murdered on May 21, 1988. May these wounds be the seeds to sow the justice and peace that the Maya people deserve. This confrontation has been one of the most terrible in the Americas due to the serious human rights violations. The main victims are part of four linguistic communities: Ixil, K'iche', Q'eqchi', and Mam. They all belong to the Maya people*.

Join us! The experience of impunity from the past is linked to the current social crisis: forced migration, the diaspora of indigenous peoples, crimes against Mother Earth, the lack of food security due to the privatization of seeds (Monsanto Law), cases of extractivism, and the dispossession of ancestral territories. All of this continues to happen and hinders the establishment of the rule of law and access to justice in the Maya future.
